This one-year project, funded by the Civil Society Support Fund/World Bank for Social Accountability in the Middle East and North Africa, began in August 2012. Through this initiative, Transparency Maroc aimed to create a public awareness platform and develop a regional network across various Moroccan cities by partnering with NGOs, universities, public administrations, media outlets, and youth groups. The goal was to engage these actors in the fight against corruption at the regional level.

These partners continued their advocacy work within their communities, launching initiatives based on the training and support provided by Transparency Maroc. National and regional conferences and informational meetings were held in collaboration with these local partners.

The project also sought to strengthen Transparency Maroc’s internal capacity, notably through staff training and leveraging external expertise to enhance internal procedures and organizational efficiency.

Planned Activities:

  • Organized national-level meetings to train and mobilize target groups (civil society organizations, media, public administrations, youth, and universities);
  • Delivered training sessions for public and private institutions as well as NGOs;
  • Created a network of trained associations;
  • Strengthened Transparency Maroc’s capacity through staff and volunteer training and by conducting an internal organizational diagnostic.
