Tax governance was considered a key entry point for implementing structural reforms to establish a “development model” rooted in equity, social justice, and respect for human dignity. Within this framework, the state was expected to act as a key actor, ensuring that public policies were sustainably financed without hindering the economic and societal momentum essential for growth and sustainable development.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>[vc_column_text css=””]This project formed the second phase of a partnership with the Oxfam Foundation in Morocco. The first phase (2016\u20132018) focused on diagnosing corruption risks in tax management.<\/p>\n

Consequently, the second phase (2019\u20132020) was dedicated to advocacy efforts targeting institutions involved in Morocco\u2019s tax and budgetary processes.[\/vc_column_text]

<\/div>[vc_column_text css=””]In this second phase, advocacy efforts were prioritized, showcasing the approved expertise of a team of specialists in taxation and public finance.<\/p>\n

The following key activities were conducted:<\/p>\n

  • A national debate on tax reform;<\/li>\n
  • Two meetings with members of the 1st Chamber of Parliament;<\/li>\n
  • Two meetings with members of the 2nd Chamber of Parliament;<\/li>\n
  • Two meetings with the Ministry of Economy and Finance;<\/li>\n
  • A seminar focused on enhancing the “Citizen Budget”;<\/li>\n
  • A media campaign aimed at raising public awareness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Citizens\u2019 priorities should be included in the drafting of finance laws.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
