With its significant impacts on development and equal opportunities, corruption is one of the major issues faced by Moroccan public services. As demonstrated by the Corruption Perceptions Index of Transparency International (TI), Morocco is among the countries most affected by corruption, and its situation continues to deteriorate over time. In 2016, Morocco ranked 90th globally with a score of 37 out of 100.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>The Oriental region, due to its remoteness and the isolation of its rural and urban areas, is highly affected by the phenomenon of corruption, which is further exacerbated by:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><strong>The precarious income levels of residents;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The lack of basic infrastructure;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The inability of citizens to resist corruption;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>The lack of training and capacity-building within the associative sector.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Overall Objective (Outcome): In general, the project aims to:<br \/>\n&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h2|font_size:17|text_align:left|color:%233f88c5|line_height:17&#8243; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221; el_class=&#8221;mytitle2&#8243;]<div class=\"ult-spacer spacer-69d69d23b251e\" data-id=\"69d69d23b251e\" data-height=\"20\" data-height-mobile=\"20\" data-height-tab=\"20\" data-height-tab-portrait=\"\" data-height-mobile-landscape=\"\" style=\"clear:both;display:block;\"><\/div>[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the collective level, this project aims to promote civic behavior through adherence to the values of transparency and accountability. Its operation also serves as a primary source of information, enabling Transparency Maroc to better target its priorities and provide stakeholders with reliable data on corruption, in order to deepen understanding of the phenomenon and advocate for institutional reforms to be initiated in the short and medium term. The legal assistance promoted by the project also makes it possible to communicate observed dysfunctions to the relevant administrations and to encourage them both to deliver justice to complainants and to correct the procedures and practices in question, thereby promoting transparency and accountability.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text]<div class=\"ult-spacer spacer-69d69d23b253a\" data-id=\"69d69d23b253a\" data-height=\"10\" data-height-mobile=\"10\" data-height-tab=\"10\" data-height-tab-portrait=\"\" data-height-mobile-landscape=\"\" style=\"clear:both;display:block;\"><\/div>[vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h2|font_size:17|text_align:left|color:%233f88c5|line_height:17&#8243; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221; el_class=&#8221;mytitle2&#8243;]<div class=\"ult-spacer spacer-69d69d23b2550\" data-id=\"69d69d23b2550\" data-height=\"20\" css=&#8221;&#8221;]<strong>The project will ensure close engagement with beneficiaries and will primarily aim to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Raise citizens\u2019 awareness that corruption is unacceptable, that refusing it is a civic duty, and that Transparency Maroc is ready to support them in this fight;<\/li>\n<li>Inform citizens about the consequences of corruption and train officials and employees from both the public and private sectors on the various forms of corruption and ways to combat it;<\/li>\n<li>Work in synergy with local associative networks, local administrative authorities, and the media, notably by organizing roundtables and training sessions;<\/li>\n<li>Assist and advise citizens in their efforts to obtain their rights (through justice or by filing a complaint with a public administration);<\/li>\n<li>Identify the sectors most affected by corruption at the regional level that require intervention from the center;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Conduct advocacy
